Bleh, I hate that I got bored with this. It just wasn’t coming out as I’d hoped. Stupid fat ugly Boogle. Having one of those “I hate my art” days, I guess. I like how the Oogles were coming out, though! I like to imagine them as little creatures that can form their optic nerves into male/female or animal bodies, even just 8 spidery legs or one long tendril they can slug around on.
A crop from my entry to a dA contest. Go HERE for the full view! I’ll never win, but it was fun to paint, despite getting the shakes just from working on it. Guess I’m still a bit terrified of the sludgebeast from my basement…
Some various examples of $10 sketch commissions I did recently. I meant them to be sketchy busts but wound up over-doing most of ‘em :3
A preview of some adoptables I’ve done recently. They’re currently being auctioned off and are at $20-30 a piece so far! Auction ends 9 PM EST on the 30th. I originally posted paintings of the larvae form of each of these insects, so they’ll “hatch” later to become their adult (anthro) forms :) These are super fun and I’m so glad people like them. I hope they like what they get! <3
orima-kazooie’s salamander fakemon. I don’t think they’re aquatic, but maybe he got knocked in during a fight or something 6_9 he does look a bit peeved.
over-doing these just a bit XD I guess I just really feel like practicing with painting today.
I just finished this one for becdecorbin, their adorable character, Molly. And below it is the awesome Gromble they did for me <3
I’m really good at feeling sorry for/attempting to comfort myself. Someone has to be, I guess.
Boogle being snuggled by a giant white-eye mutation American cockroach.
New header art for my blog. Go to my main page to see it in full view~ Nothing spectacular, but it’ll do for the Halloween season. It’s Boogle in her penanggalan form, with a bit of a spooky ghost feel.
Boogle as she was drawn in 2007 vs a picture of her I just finished. She’s changed a lot, as you can see. I think she has a more realistic, weighted look, and looks more like me, which is good since she IS me. Her hair is longer and more doll-like and her flesh, when visible, is more purpley-toned and less human-looking, which is also good since she isn’t technically human. Her outfits are more whimsical and girly, as well.
Anyway, I just found this when sifting through old art, and thought it’d be fun to re-do it, since I don’t think I’ve drawn her juggling since the old version!
Here are some of my works I chose to take tomorrow to a fancy coffee tasting/art showing/live music type thing that I was invited to. Upper-left was an Alice in Wonderland-themed commission that I altered a bit, the lion was recently re-painted from THIS older work from 2005, then there’s the teapot lady, which I made much less saturated (I’d painted it on my laptop originally, which has a very dull screen) and gave her a top (since I’m not sure cleavage would be fully appropriate). “KitschyMonster” was done in marker and is the only non-print item besides the tiny, framed Gromble on the bottom-left. The Eyeball in Space painting was done recently, and the seamonster lady is another slightly edited commission from a while ago that I always rather liked. I’ll probably also have a folder with some of my original sketches.OH, and it’s hard to see, but the ribbons have little coffee/tea cups on them! ;3;
I hope no one wants to buy these or commission me, since the idea of doing commission work locally is just… I don’t know. I’m probably not really built for that type of commission work, it’d probably put a lot of pressure on me. I’m just hoping to have fun and maybe talk to some people. Here’s hoping it won’t be too awkward and I won’t make a fool of myself! If I do, at least Nick and I will be leaving directly after to go across the state to visit his dad for a week, so I can run away and hope everyone forgets I exist. :D
OPTIMISM!
