I spent a few hours last night going through every photo I ever took of my pets and editing them to look a bit more surreal/colorful so that I could have some nice prints to put on the wall in my new place. Here’s one of the photos I took of my white-eyed mutant American roaches, with a bit more of a pink hue. Should I share more? :3

American Cockroach, periplaneta americana, mutant white-eye form. Photos belong to me.

Constantly doodling mutated eyeball-roaches… here’s one of them! I love drawing in this more organic, free-flowing style. I also enjoy looking at others’ artwork when it’s this loose and more emotive. To me, it gives more of a sense that the artist is enjoying their art and putting their heart and feelings into it rather than just trying to make it look good.
However, I do tend to even prefer the look of my own art when it’s like this. For me, less pressure to create a “masterpiece” = more fun and less stress = better art.
