3 New Giant Cockroach Species Found in China!
They’re beautiful! Looks quite similar to g. lurida, another strikingly colored roach beauty.
Periplaneta sp., dorso-ventral longitudinal section showing alimentary canal, dorsal blood vessel, ventral nerve cord, cerebral ganglion, accessory glands with male and female reproductive organs mounted separately.

I took this photo in January 2010 when one of my hissing cockroaches gave birth. These little guys were only seconds old… you can actually see the mother’s abdomen in the upper left, still releasing them. HERE is the video I took of their birth. These roaches give live birth and on average give birth to around 30 nymphs at a time.

I originally posted paintings of the larvae form of each of these insects, so they’ll “hatch” later to become their adult (anthro) forms :) These are super fun and I’m so glad people like them.
