A work-in-progress reference for Boogle. Not sure if I like it. I wanted to show all her outfits & accessories, but having photo examples looks a bit jumbled. I’d like to make a flash type thing (never worked in it) that you can click to view other outfits on her, but not sure how to do that, so I’ll probably just draw her outfits in somewhere along with her backstory/description, or at least as much of it as I can fit without it being too much for other artists to read, since it’s pretty lengthy. I just figured it was about time to make a reference that covered everything about Boogle in one image, so I wouldn’t have to link artists I commission to like, 8 different pictures anymore x_x; because, as an artist myself, I know how damned stressful and annoying that is.
Realizing more and more that the more meaningful a character is for me, the less capable I am of making it simple lol. Boogle means more to me than any of them. Can’t wait to find the time to finish this.

My clown girl, Boogle done by STiR! eee :D I love that they made her whole body white instead of light lilac with the darker spots. Looks like she has on full-body clown paint. <3
Dressed up as my clown girl, Glow last night! She loves all things glow-in-the-dark, ghosts, Halloween, plastic bugs in her hair, tropical-anything, kitschy stuff, ponies, kids’ cereal mascots, retro kitchen appliances kids’ tv shows, living room camping, eyeballs, roaches, b-movie monsters, yokai……. Sound familiar? She’s basically Boogle, or at least, the kind of clown Boogle would have been had she not become a Penanggalan. It’s a long story, though not that interesting of one :) Basically think of her as a younger, more colorful and high-spirited version of Boogle, if nothing horribly bad had ever happened to her.
I wanna get a wig made with completely glow-in-the-dark hair, as well as a glow-in-the-dark green nose. <3 One of my favorite things in the world is that yellow-green plastic that glows in the dark. It makes me think of my childhood. Domino Rally Ghost Ride… g-i-t-d MLP… g-i-t-d Monster in my Pockets… a Ghostbusters ghost “Jail Jaw” I used to have… and this Casper necklace I used to have… I’ve searched everywhere online but can’t find it. :C It was sold at Wal-Mart, and the little glowing Casper was about 1 1/2” long.
Anyway, yeah… introducing Glow. :)
My clown girl, Glow (a kind-of alternate of Boogle if she’d never become a Penanggalan) dressed in a latex Sweet Stuff (My Little Pony from the 80’s cartoon/movie/toy line, and only the best pony ever) costume. I need it. ;;
For a couple years, I’ve been accumulating an ATC collection oriented around Boogle & the Gromble (of course), and this is all I have so far :) I’m going to try and link every artist from top to bottom, left to right:
Kinasaur - uglylilmonster - Inkfall - Isabellaprice - Kinasaur
Rigormortis - Cursereaper - Jaslyn - savannahhorrocks - myself
Lilshock x2 - Foreverafter - myself - Inkfall
NEED MOAR!

It’s hilarious when internet people who don’t know me one bit try to hurt my feelings… it’s always either a. I draw SELF-INDULGENT ART rather than loads of fanservice for their self-entitled asses, b. uhh… CLOWNS=WEIRD, wat are you some kind of WEIRDO, c. You have a rape fetish OMGZ THAT MEANS U HATE WOMMIN or d. EW ROACH LOVR U NASTY. None of these things are insulting to me, because either they are tremendously untrue* or tremendously NOT INSULTS lol. I always get a little scared when someone doesn’t like me, thinking “oh they must have some reason, maybe I did something to offend them at some point?”, but I love when it winds up being that they’re just little bitches who don’t know me one bit and have nothing better to throw at me than U WEIRD. But yes, I get this one a lot… here, on drama sites, and -especially- on my youtube comments. x)
(*But actually I totally fuck roaches, that one’s true.)

Now back to your regularly scheduled clowns, monsters and bugs.

A tiny Boogle & Kittymonster in one of many frames I got at Michael’s. The drawing area is only about 1.5x2.5”. Inked with extra-fine Faber-Castell indian ink pen, colored with Copic brush pens & Prismacolor pencils, touched up with white gel pen. Next time I’ll be using a needle to touch up with this, as it comes out in too-big globs most of the time x_x
This is confusing, I drew this in 2010… o.0 And uh… it was actually meant to be… not as suggestive as it looks, apparently. :c
I’m really good at feeling sorry for/attempting to comfort myself. Someone has to be, I guess.
Boogle being snuggled by a giant white-eye mutation American cockroach.
New header art for my blog. Go to my main page to see it in full view~ Nothing spectacular, but it’ll do for the Halloween season. It’s Boogle in her penanggalan form, with a bit of a spooky ghost feel.
Boogle as she was drawn in 2007 vs a picture of her I just finished. She’s changed a lot, as you can see. I think she has a more realistic, weighted look, and looks more like me, which is good since she IS me. Her hair is longer and more doll-like and her flesh, when visible, is more purpley-toned and less human-looking, which is also good since she isn’t technically human. Her outfits are more whimsical and girly, as well.
Anyway, I just found this when sifting through old art, and thought it’d be fun to re-do it, since I don’t think I’ve drawn her juggling since the old version!
I recently held a contest for people to draw the Gromble, or create any kind of art relating to him. The winner was BlackPie with THIS incredible knitted interpretation. I was just blown away by it, and then… she offered to mail him to me. I was ecstatic. I got him in the mail today, as well as these other incredibly thoughtful surprises. I was sobbing like a baby, holding little ball-jointed knitted Boogle, with her movable joints and everything… and the eyeball + eyeball drawstring bag, which were made to look like Vera’s own eyes. It’s so incredible to receive gift art, but to receive something like these… hand-made, tangible, cuddle-able creations… I was overcome with joy and immediately went to nap with them <3 I cried myself to sleep. The first happy cry I’ve had in a very long while. It may sound stupid or over-dramatic, but I just appreciated them so much and I just know they will provide me with so many smiles in the future. <3
Just some works in progress I found in an old folder.
The halfway-inked Boogle was going to be her new ref, and she was coming out -exactly- as I imagined her. A more doll-like face, bigger eyes & lips, hair dragging the ground, and curvy bjd body. <3
The painting was going to be a scene from my childhood, I spent my time playing in the 40 or so acres of woods my grandparents owned back in West Virginia. It was so magical there; I played by myself from dawn until dusk with my imaginary friends, singing songs and studying bugs I’d find. There was a particular patch of moss that was so magical, the sun would beam down onto it with tall trees perfectly encircling it all around me. I’d nap there until a bird or deer would wake me up. I don’t miss much about WV beyond the wildlife, specifically on my grandparents’ land. The mountains, lush trees, cool air, big rocks, the smell of moist earth, thick, soft moss, hiding places and secret nooks… something so mystical about it in the Spring-Autumn months.
