1 of about 10 $10 commissions I’ve done recently. I planned on just making them sketches, but went way overboard on all of them, just had a lot of fun working on something new and rejuvenating my lust to work on commissions. This one is for the super awesome pleistocene (who has the best clown giggle ever) :3
A Hooks tray puzzle and some McDonald’s Littlest Pet Shop toys from the 90’s :) Hooks were obscure plush toys made in the 80’s, and it’s hard to find any merchandise like this of them, let alone the plushes themselves. I also have a magic slate as well as almost all the plushes. :3

This image is tormenting me… is it an edit of old pony art? Prototypes that were never made? *Squint* and what the hell are the lower 3’s symbols of? I need to know the origin of this picture ad;lkfjasdf! I want swirly space ponies!!! ;;
Here are my Hooks! I’m missing the raccoon, the bug (“Chugga Bug”) and the elephant at this point. I also have the color variation (“Deer Me” the reindeer) as shown on ghostofthedoll’s page on Hooks, and a magic slate. :3
I miss having the space to have my whole 80’s pony collection out. :’( I used to have about 500 now I have about 350, vintage only bitches and fuck yes I still play pretend with them. Photos from a couple years ago.
This was the real shit. Sparkler, Baby Lickety-Split, Starflower and Heart Throb, in order of appearance. Pretty sure this is from Escape from Katrina, since Starflower was only in it I think. fff *Goes to watch my old MLP & Friends VHS tapes*
My Popples clock. <3 It would be awesome if they made clocks of all the Popples, but I think they only made one of Potato Chip, here.
I’m so damn excited over this find! .99 cents on eBay got me a surely rare alternate-colored Hooks plush! I haven’t seen any other photos or topics about it. They’re an obscure toy line with little interest, anyway so I’m sure there are many more out there that nobody knows about!
Hook were produced by Mattel in 1987. They were plush animals with long, curly arms, legs, ears etc which could hook around things. They came in three sizes. I’m now only missing the medium elephant, raccoon & skunk, that I’m aware of. I have the small rabbit but it’s not pictured here (probably buried in a stuffed animal pile somewhere) - it can be seen here. I also have a Hooks magic slate :D I love this toy line so much. I love that they’re mainly unusual animals but still have those crazy 80’s toy colors. <3
Creepshow: They’re Creeping Up on You (1982)
“They’re Creeping Up On You” features an obsessively-clean, ruthlessly cruel billionaire Upson Pratt (E.G. Marshall), whose Mysophobia has him living in a hermetically sealed apartment. The chapter is uniformly creative, filmed in garish 1980’s comic-book colors, and Tom Savini’s makeup effects are quite memorable. Mr. Pratt finds himself helpless when his sterile penthouse becomes overrun by endless hordes of cockroaches. His hatred of cockroaches was seen by some as a metaphor for prejudice.
In Stephen King’s original script for the film, the final story, “They’re Creeping Up On You!”, originally took place in a lush, carpeted penthouse apartment. However, because with roaches this would have been unworkable, Romero opted for a more empty almost hospital room-like set for the story.
The cockroaches were exterminated at the end of the film… but for a moment, they had their revenge on humanity… and “blattodephobes” everywhere still shudder while watching this film, much to the satisfaction of cockroaches, I’m sure, if they were to have a consciousness. I always found it beautiful, watching as Mr. Pratt’s pure white home progress into a dark, shiny mass of skittering roachy exoskeletons. This story gave me the least creeps of any other Creepshow story; but it was by far my favorite.

Big Top & Toppy. Recently added to my clowny/circus-related pony collection :o) I’m desperate to get my hands on Sugarcake & Gametime, two mail order babies that have balloon animal symbols… but they rarely sell for less than $100 each, so it’ll be a while… so, next on the list is the Clown Costume + Clown Pal :o)
